About the Event:

The IDO AcroDance Continental Cup is an “Open” IDO competition being produced and hosted by the United States Tournament of Dance, CRU Dance, Inc and the United States Dance and Sport Competition Federation.  As a licensed IDO event, competitors from around the world will compete for the “Americas” Continental Cup and Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals in their respective categories (see awards section below).  This is a competitive event that determines winners that move from the first round to semi-finals and finals based on scores.  Unlike traditional US and Canadian events, only the top three highest scoring routines in each category will be recognized in an “Olympic Style” awards ceremony once the winner has been selected.  Routines moving forward will be posted on our video walls after each round and once tabulation for that category has been finalized.

This event will be supervised by IDO Senior Vice President, Fiona Johnson of Slovenia as well as an IDO Chairperson (TBD).  There will be a total of three VIP highly trained and specialized acrobatic judges from across the US and Canada.

Competitor Registration Details (IDO and USDSCF):

As the official event organizer, the United States Tournament of Dance will be collecting the mandatory IDO and USDSCF competitor participation fees and paying those fees directly to the IDO and USDSCF on each competitors behalf. The payment link for those fees is separate from the routine registration site (Dancebug) where routines will be entered and paid for. Please see below for USDSCF/IDO Registration Fees and Payment Link. All competitors are required to pay the IDO/USDSCF fees in order to participate. Fees are due no later than April 1st 2025.

  • USDSCF Fee = $35.00 (USD) per competitor
  • IDO Fee = $35 (Euro) per competitor
  • Service Charge = $5.00 per competitor
  • Total = $80.00 USD

Routine Registration Details:

Please note – while this “Open Continental Cup” allows for Independent entries, individuals not being registered in Dancebug under a dance studio, school or team account will not be permitted to create their own Dancebug account to register.  We urge any independent competitor to have their home dance studio, school or team set up an account on their behalf.  If a competitor does not have a studio, school or team affiliation they will be required to contact the United States Tournament of Dance (USTD) office for approval.

Routine Entry Fees:

  • Solo $60.00
  • Duo $40.00 per competitor
  • Trios & Groups (3-7 dancers) $40.00 per competitor
  • Formations (8-24 dancers) $35.00 per competitor
  • Productions (25+ dancers) $35.00 per competitor

Age Divisions:

Age division is determined by what age a competitor is as of January 1st of the competition year (January 1st 2025).  The Dancebug registration system is programmed to automatically place a competitor in their respective age division based on this rule.  A competitors birthdate must be imputed at the time of registration and MUST match the birth date on their passport.

Duo’s, Groups, Formation and Production ages are determined by the average age of the competitors.  The registration system adds all ages of competitors in a given routine and then divides by the total dropping the decimal.  A competitor’s age may not be more than one age division higher or lower than the average age of the routine.  For example, if the average age of the competitors in a routine averages out to 11-12, the youngest competitor in the routine can be age 9 (as of January 1st) and the oldest competitor in the routine can be age 15 (as of January 1st).  In this case, there could not be an 8 year old or a 16 year old in the routine.

  • Mini Kids (6-8)
  • Children (9-10)
  • Junior (11-12)
  • Teen (13-15)
  • Senior (16-19)
  • Adult (20 & Over)

Please note – there are no levels being offered at this event. Competitors should be advanced level and experienced in AcroDance.
